Terms of Service
Terms and conditions applicable to the use of the Where Is My Data website.
Last updated: August 30, 2026
1. Purpose
The purpose of these Terms of Service (hereinafter referred to as the "Terms") is to define the conditions under which the Where Is My Data website (hereinafter referred to as the "Website") is accessible and used by its visitors and users.
Access to and use of the Website imply full and unconditional acceptance of these Terms. If you do not accept these conditions, you are requested not to use the Website.
2. Description and Operation of the Service
The Website operates in conjunction with a browser extension to detect domains that are likely to hold the user's personal data, and to enable the user to generate personal data access or deletion request templates.
To retrieve and verify contact email addresses from the detected domains, the Website relies on automated third-party services, including email verification services and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.
Nature of Detections: The Website does not affirm with absolute certainty that the detected companies actually hold the user's personal data. The results are based on relevant indicators and strong signals. The service therefore operates on a basis of deduction rather than absolute affirmation.
Request Templates: The service produces customized templates based on the criteria selected by the user (region, country, type of request). The publisher cannot be held responsible for any data entry or configuration errors made by the user once the templates have been generated.
Financial Conditions and Refunds: The service is billed on a pay-per-use basis. The publisher reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to offer free quotas on an occasional basis or for a given period.
Purchase and Validity of CreditsCredit purchases are processed securely through our third-party payment provider, Stripe. Stripe is solely responsible for the proper functioning of its service and the technical management of transactions. In the event of a refund, and provided that it meets the eligibility criteria specified elsewhere in these Terms and Conditions, the refunded amount will be subject to the deduction of the transaction fees originally charged by Stripe, unless such fees are fully credited or reimbursed to our website by the provider. Furthermore, purchased credits carry a strict validity period of 45 days from the date of purchase. Upon expiration of this period, any unused credits will be permanently lost and shall not be eligible for any refund, exchange, or financial compensation.
The Website cannot be held liable for any malfunctions, errors, or unsatisfactory results (such as outdated or incorrect contact addresses) returned by third-party services. Consequently, no refunds will be issued on this basis. The sole exceptional case for a refund will occur only if the third-party providers first refund the publisher following a proven and acknowledged technical malfunction on their part.
Limitation of Liability Regarding Third Parties: The publisher does not guarantee any response from the companies or websites contacted by the user after the templates are generated. Furthermore, the publisher disclaims all liability in the event of a malfunction in the email inbox of either the user or the recipients that prevents the proper delivery or transmission of the requests.
3. Access to the Website
The Website is accessible to any user with internet access, except during scheduled or exceptional interruptions.
The publisher strives to ensure the accessibility and proper functioning of the Website, but cannot guarantee permanent, continuous, and error-free availability.
The publisher reserves the right to modify, suspend, interrupt, or limit all or part of the Website, temporarily or permanently, particularly for maintenance, security, or service evolution purposes.
4. Use of the Website
The user agrees to use the Website fairly, reasonably, and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Any attempt to bypass a security measure, gain unauthorized access, alter the functioning of the Website, or interfere with its infrastructure may result in appropriate measures and, where applicable, prosecution in accordance with applicable regulations.
11. Suspension or Restriction of Access
The publisher reserves the right to suspend or restrict a user's access to the Website, particularly in the event of a breach of these Terms, misuse, fraud, or actions likely to undermine the operation or security of the Website.
Such suspension may be implemented without prior notice when the situation warrants it, notably in the event of a risk to the security of the Website or its users.

Where’s My Data is designed to minimize the collection and retention of your personal data. Data used by the extension is primarily processed and stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers for storage, analysis, or profiling purposes.
Where’s My Data does not sell your personal data to third parties and does not require registration or the creation of a user account.
The website does not use tracking, advertising, or behavioral analytics cookies. It only uses technical mechanisms that are strictly necessary for its operation. Where necessary, a session identifier may be stored in your browser to allow the server to maintain your session. This identifier does not directly contain the data associated with your session and is not used for tracking, advertising, or behavioral analysis purposes.
The various detection modes provided by Where’s My Data are designed to operate locally and do not allow the platform to access the content of personal information you enter into form fields, your conversations, or the contents of your emails.
Certain website features may nevertheless require the temporary processing of data strictly necessary to fulfill your request. The details of these processing operations are described in the sections below. Click on see more to view them.

Extension
The extension processes and stores information exclusively locally on your device. No data is transmitted to a remote server by the extension.
When synchronization with the website is performed, data is transferred directly between the extension and the website solely for the purpose of displaying the relevant information in your interface. The website does not store this data on its servers or transmit it to any third party or remote server for storage purposes.
Extension — Live Mode
Live Mode analyzes the visual and structural elements present on the web pages you visit in order to identify potential fields intended for the entry of personal information. It also monitors certain page-related events in order to detect potential form submissions.
This analysis is limited to the elements required for detection. Live Mode is not designed to read, record, or collect the textual content you enter into fields on web pages and does not constitute a mechanism for tracking your browsing activity.
Extension — Advanced Live Mode
Advanced Live Mode analyzes certain network requests made by web pages in order to identify potential authentication indicators contained in request URLs and thereby detect potential transmissions of personal data.
This analysis primarily covers HTTP POST requests and is limited to the destination URL of the request. The request body is not analyzed.
Accordingly, Advanced Live Mode does not read, record, or collect the content of data transmitted within the body of network requests.
Extension — History Analysis
The History Analysis feature locally examines the URLs contained in your browsing history in order to identify potential authentication flows on certain websites.
This analysis is not performed continuously. It is triggered only following an explicit action by you when you select the “Analyze History” feature.
Extension — Emails Scan
The extraction feature automatically analyzes an inbox page when the detected website is Gmail, Outlook, or Proton, provided that Live Mode and email analysis have been enabled from the extension's main menu. Email analysis, as well as Live Mode, can be disabled at any time.
The extension does not have direct or independent access to the contents of your mailbox. The analysis is performed on the visible elements of the page and only retrieves the email addresses of senders in order to determine their domain. The extension does not access the body of messages, their subjects, or any attachments in your mailbox.
Website — Generation of Data Deletion Templates
When you select domains in order to generate data deletion requests, the information required for this operation may, for technical reasons, be temporarily present in your browser session, particularly when navigating from one page to another.
This information is retained only to the extent necessary for the operation of the feature and is deleted as soon as it is no longer technically required.
Website — General Data Processing
Certain website features may require the temporary processing of information strictly necessary to fulfill your request. This may include your email address when you request an analysis of your mailbox or a data deletion operation.
When such information passes through our servers, it is encrypted and processed solely for the purpose of providing the requested feature. It is not combined with additional information intended to establish or reconstruct your identity.
Such information is retained only for the period strictly necessary to perform and complete the relevant operation, subject to any applicable legal retention requirements.
